Back and better than ever!

Hey bitches! {I mean that affectionately of course.}

After an impromptu six week hiatus I am back and better than ever! Why six weeks, you ask? I’m not gonna lie, I needed some time to come to grips with my ever mounting pile of rejection letters.

-What I learned from my time away-

Lesson one: I cannot be expected to produce like that of a full time writer, especially while working a full time job.

Lesson two: A person can only take so much rejection before they need to take a break.

Lesson three:  Just because it’s my dream, doesn’t mean it’ll be easy- in fact, it’ll probably be the hardest thing I ever do.

These may sound like obvious things but when I was in the middle of chaos- with finishing a project in October, getting two more rejection letters in November, and dealing with the fact that my job has been requiring more and more attention- I just couldn’t see it. I needed time to understand what it means to manage my own production and how to handle this insane life.

Who knew following your dreams could be so rough? Lol

Most importantly, I learned that it’s okay to pull back and lick your wounds. Everyone needs a break now and again, no matter who you are or what you do- Taking a little time to rest the synapses will probably help you more than trying to push through the chaos. Just as long as you’re able to pick yourself back up and get back at it.
