Curveballs and Dreams

When life throws you a curveball it’s only natural to stop and take stock, to evaluate your choices and make sure you’re living your best life. I’ve recently had such a curveball and I’ve been making such an evaluation.

Historically, my life choices have been made with financial security in mind. I knew from a young age that I would have to work hard for anything I wanted- and I did, I do. These choices could also be a result of my partner’s health; I’ve always wanted to make sure she was provided for and had everything she needed, and I think I’ve done an okay job there as well.

Life evaluation so far… not bad.

Now I’m at a point where I’ve almost reached those stability goals and I find myself looking towards the next chapter, the next goals.

So here it is, I’m in my mid-thirties and have finally given myself permission to follow my dreams. Honestly, I don’t know why I waited. There were always a million excuses not to go through with it but I don’t think there were ever any good reasons.

If this curveball turns out to be nothing more than a speedbump on the road of my life, great! If not, it would be a pretty unfortunate time to start living my dreams.

My point:

Don’t wait. Don’t ever wait. Not for a minute, not for a second.

  1. I love the advice to not wait, but I only recently realized I was touched by similar advice I’ve been given many times in my life. I realized that getting good advice is only part of the solution, the other part is getting the advice when you’re ready to hear it. I’m ready for mine, and it sounds like you are for yours too. Don’t beat yourself up over timing, because now IS the best time to make those dreams happen. Go get ’em, Fred!
